Print Workshops in the UK

Introduction Some workshops may have open access others concentrate on editioning.
There are several print workshops in the Cambridge area. Students and graduates from Anglia have used the facilities at the St. Barnabas Press and sometimes students have been employed to edition prints. The Curwen Press is the most famous of the local presses. It is run by Stanley Jones who, until recently taught at the Slade in London. We sometimes arrange visits to Curwen. The third press is run by Kip Gresham who also editions prints for many established artists such as Bert Irvin and Anthony Frost.

Etching tuition for both experienced printmakers and
complete beginners. Techniques covered include
viscosity and multi-plate printing, spit biting and
sugar-lift. On-going weekly classes as well as occasional
full days or weekends. Classes arranged according to
demand.
Facilities include Rochat size 26"x48", a Columbian, a
book press, trays of type and a proofing press, assorted
rollers up to 4"x15" and an acquatint box.
